About Academy (IABS)
INDIAN ACADEMY OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES (IABS)
In order to promote translational research, Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences was established at the renowned Medical Institution, King George's Medical University, Lucknow (India) with keen interest and efforts of various scientists from India and abroad. The main objective of the Academy is to bring clinicians and scientists on a common platform and foster collaborations in research and innovation for human health and wellbeing. Aspirations and achievements of the Academy are in disseminating knowledge as well as setting forth guidelines and standards of excellence for future research and teaching in the area of biomedical sciences.
The Academy encourages and promotes nation-wide Seminars, Symposia, Workshops, CMEs and an international conference each year since its inception in 2012. These IABS conferences and CMEs provide opportunities for (under)postgraduate students, medical professionals, registrars and faculty to learn the emerging new research and techniques in the field of diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. In order to recognize academic contributions of eminent scientists in the field of biomedical research, the Academy has initiated Fellowship program since 2015. A number of prestigious Awards have also been instituted by the Academy and are bestowed upon eminent biomedical scientists for their research and academic excellence each year in a glittering convocation (details available on our website www.iabs.in).
