Abstract

Helianthus decapetalus L. (Asteraceae), previously unknown in India. During a recent floristic investigation, a new species was reported for the northern Western Ghats of India. A taxonomy description, phenology, ecological observations, photographic images, and a comparison of diagnostic traits with closely related species are provided to facilitate correct identification.
