Abstract

With a mission of taking the forefront in the campaign to control elevated blood pressure and its associated complications across the Indian subcontinent, the Indian Society of Hypertension (InSH) took the responsibility of creating a clinical guideline to better adapt the knowledge, best practices, and recommendations to the Indian context.

The 2025 InSH guidelines aim to summarize the best available evidence for all aspects of hypertension management for people living in India. The guidelines were developed by a Special Committee of 63 experts from India, representing the areas of internal medicine, cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general medicine, geriatrics, pharmacology, and epidemiology.
